Christmas Eve at the Bellagio
Edited on Mon Dec-27-10 11:10 PM by ljm2002
The Bellagio always goes all out at Christmas in their Atrium display. I try to catch it every Christmas.

For some reason my Photobucket pictures won't show up, so here is a link to a slide show:

On edit: Here are a couple of images:

Polar bear done in white carnations:

Penguins (some of which actually moved):

Those are quite beautiful. Wonderful photographs
Not the kind of thing I'd expect to see in the middle of a desert.

2. Thanks!
Well, let's face it, Las Vegas is not what one would expect in the middle of a desert, but there it is!

I had meant to say in my first post, the title of the executive at the Bellagio who is in charge of this stuff is: Vice President of Engineering and Horticulture. I just get a big kick out of that!

And welcome to DU!

3. WOW - I clicked the link - and I all but walked with you!
The Belagio is where I took the photo of the two Georgio Armani clad women in White a few short months back.
(the one I entered in the "White" contest that did not make it to the finals)

The Belagio is so opulent and phenomenal and outreageous, I can see that they would go to all that expense and creativity at Christmas.

I have several photos of the glass flowers as well, so in a way, I did walk with you.
I am very glad you posted these.

Those glass flowers are just irresistible, aren't they. I take pictures of them whenever I get over to the Bellagio, which isn't that often but still, I have many shots of them.

The penguin display included an igloo where a penguin would pop out of the top every now and then, and another would pop out the front door from time to time.

For their Fall / Thanksgiving display, among other things they had some giant Venus Flytraps that would suddenly snap closed.
