2. Only if the photo is so white it needs it do delineate it
Edited on Tue Feb-01-11 09:31 AM by NV Whino
I believe that was the consensus when we discussed this earlier.

4. Are we permitted to use photos that we have already posted to the group?
Edited on Tue Feb-01-11 12:50 PM by Earth_First
Not from previous contests; but from previous submissions to DU: Photo Group in general?

Great shot!

I've been working ALOT with cityscape photos at night and attempting to perfect the technique.

Bravo!

14. She's heads and shoulders ahead of us. Johnny Noshoes,
that is as good as any pro street photographers. Excellent shot. It's hard to tell if it is black and white or desaturated until there's just a hint of color.

But I do take up to 200 shots on a good day.

Imagine how much that would cost if using film.

The hardest part is separating the good from the crap. That's where this place comes in handy. Being exposed to so much talent has taught me what makes a good image. Still learning that lesson.

The most important lesson was less is more when it comes to post processing. Technical perfection is not as important as the story told.

21. I'll look later today...
and see if I have anything remotely wintery already on Photobucket. My web connections here are my Dad's old Mac and the iPad I'm typing this on; The Mac can't handle viewing large jpgs so I don't bring them with me. The iPad makes a fantastic portfolio but I don't think I can upload to PB and don't have any winter scenes on it anyway.

23. I agree with what you are saying, and in your stead, enter your photo into the
lineup of "greats". It is so very wintry, melancholy, and cold. I also, for some strange reason, respond to the dark parallel line (to the edge) of the shoes.

I always find it interesting what people respond to in any photo. I think often it isn't even something the photographer consciously thought of when they pressed that shutter button.

:)
They are both simply fabulous.
Whichever you have the most emotion about, but one of them needs to be in the contest.
I can't decide. I lean towards one and probably do a disservice to two,.

I counted 28. If you are short one entry, then I have a photo I could enter. But, only if you are short.

third one is an appropriate fit for the theme. Accidents are a common occurrence in winter.
