It had warmed up to -9F when I left
for work this morning, the water vapor coming off of the river was just beautiful! I just wish that I had more time to photograph it. And it was quite a challenge getting closer to the river bank. I trudged through a couple feet of snow! Good lord . . . what we'll do to get a shot!

2. I'm impressed
Not just with the photos but that you actually took them under those conditions. That is way too cold for me. But, now you have your wonderful photos forever.

I've been struggling a lot with photos/cold weather lately........my response is to semi-hybernate and forget about photography. Or, I take photos from my car!

Your photos remind me of the last time I took photos of fog. I lost my iPhone in the park. It got returned to me but was useless. The sound didn't work. The Apple people said it had water damage. Out of the goodness of their hearts they replaced it with a reconditioned one. Now I take better care of the iPhone.

10. Thank you. Yes it was cold, but
I think I'm addicted to photography. ;-) And the river doesn't always look so intense as it did that morning, so I just had to try to take some photos.

Rarely does the cold stop me if there's a photo op out there somewhere.

5. Heat wave!!!!!
My sister lives in Fairbanks, AK. She calls anything over -20 a heat wave. :-)

Nice shot with the sun, bummer about the wires.

9. Yes, the wires are a distraction,
and I couldn't avoid them in the shot. But . . . I guess I can learn to "erase" them. ;-)

11. Yes, a "heat wave" is
approaching. I really don't mind the cold, but that sub-zero weather, morning after morning can be a bit wearing.

Rumor has it that it's going to get up to 32F within the next couple of days! Now that truly is a heat wave! ;-)

14. 23 here now, supposed to get to 38
in the 40's approaching 50 later in the week. Hope it doesn't last too long though.
With all the snow we've had there's going to be some SERIOUS flooding otherwise.

8. Those are really beautiful, Callalily
I'm such a fan of fog.

Sorry to hear you guys are having such cold weather this winter. Anchorage's winter so far has been pretty mild. Must be that shifting magnetic pole. :)

fan of fog.

Oh, I would think that you would smile at my sub-zero lament! ;-)
