Just saying 'Hello.'
There were really nice clouds in the sky today evening, and some coming right up from the mountaintop, although the lighting was really bad - lots of dust and pretty flat. But I still wanted to capture it, and I used my iPhone camera to do so, then went berserk with tonal mapping in Photoshop. Here's the result of today's evening horizon:

BTW, here's a cool thing to do: http://www.stuckincustoms.com/stuckinmotion/ I'll definitely get the camera and try it out myself.

1. you stuck in my mind...but i don't yet remember why
i'm thrilled to see you though and what a shot that is!!!!
the colors remind me of an unforgettable ocean sunset i once was able to catch.

the way the fire lands - or rises - from the mountain tops is a wonderful capture of the gratitude one would feel to be alive for this day.

welcome - and thanks

2. Some discussion we had in this group some time ago I think?
Thank you! The original was rather flat, but I thought I could turn it into something and make it somewhat worthwhile. :hi:

4. My pleasure!
It's a nice view. From the bedroom, there's the lake, too. And the new holiday house of some brazillonaire they still work on after two years. Here's the original (with parts of the new holiday house ...)

16. I had to stand on a stone to catch a bit of it.
We can't see it from here at all, the hedge prevents it, so all we see is the mountain range and sky. :) We're really glad they only built a one-story complex.

6. Look at the link I posted, there's a HDR tutorial.
Or, if you have Photoshop, look for the Color Efex Pro filters: http://www.niksoftware.com/colorefexpro/usa/entry.php

I'll say hello to Heidi. ;)

8. I always admire HDR images
I've just not had good results when ever I tried it. Waaaaay too much noise comes out and I lose the increased dynamic range effect when I remove the noise. I'll check out the link you included. Give HDR another try.

13. I way overdid it here, too.
But I wanted this very strong effect. Just play around, that's my approach. ;)
