A couple of weeks ago we had a very unseasonably warm evening...
...so the wife and I went for an outdoor dinner and a stroll; hence, Lights and Water. (Extra point for NV Whino if she can identify where I shot 'em) :D

The long exposure on this one caught the lights of a passing barge; you can see where they end abruptly.

:D

1. These are just beautiful . . .
and your first photo is just fantastic! I particularly like the distorted reflection(s) on the water!

3. Thankyou, Callalily! I have to use longer exposures at night...
(or any time conditions are dark) because my point-and-shoot doesn't do well in low-light conditions. Sometimes it produces interesting results. :hi:

2. Great shots!
Love that first one especially.

That's that nasty transition bridge from 180 continuing 12 (I think) toward Rio Vista.

4. Thanks, NV Whino! That first shot is actually two bridges in direct line-of-sight
but you can only see the curving white lights of the newer one; its concrete road deck is hard to discern from the steel one of the old bridge behind it, and the concrete towers are out of frame on either side. The relationship of the two is clearer in the last shot, which was taken from just outside the restaurant.

This is the I-80 bridge(s) from the south side of the Carquinez Strait. One of these clear evenings I am going back to shoot the C&H refinery just behind and below these bridges.

Better get the flannel jammies out, NV Whino, it's supposed to be colder again this week! :D

5. Hey, I was only a few miles off
I think I've only been over the new bridge once since they completed it.

I just looked at the weather report and we're supposed to have more snow at the end of the week. :scared:

6. The snow level is supposed to drop below 500' tonight!
And they say it may snow in The City for the first time in thirty-something years. :scared:

The silhouette in the second shot is of the Golden Bear, the California Maritime Academy's training vessel.

Stay Warm!
