NYC's tap water...Ashoken
Edited on Thu May-12-11 08:17 PM by ElsewheresDaughter
Ashoken Reservoir

taken yesterday on my lunch walk

one of the the ravine's along the path I was hoping to shoot the bald eagles that live down there.

another ravine

he waited patiently up ahead during our walk as I snapped away.

he looks tired of waiting so I put the camera away and we continued on at a better pace.

meet Stella the new addition to the family

It looks like you spent a nice day taking in the sights of winter's end. If you're like me, you often have to upload your pictures to see just how much of a beautiful day it was.

Thanx for sharing.

On edit: I forgot to mention how great that Scooby look is. I'm guessing you made a farting sound to get that reaction. (LOL)

It's those ears that make her poses look like: "Huh" "Did you say we're going outside?" LOL

8. Wow...
Any group with members of both Silly Wizard and Altan in it is super indeed.

And Jay Ungar is cool -- a few years ago, I was part of a group of musicians that met for regular Irish sessions at a local restaurant/bar. Even though it isn't actually Celtic, most of our sessions included "Ashokan Farewell." The owner of the place got worried about our including a copyrighted piece among all the traditional tunes, as it might open him up to legal problems. We checked with Ungar, and it turned out, several years ago, that he had given blanket permission for groups like ours to perform it for free, as long as we weren't charging admission to hear it.

9. Is this near NYC?
It looks like a place I'd like to visit if it's not too far from the city. The ravines are gorgeous.

Stella is really cute.

16. Thanks!
I try to get to NYC twice a year to visit my son. It would be fun to get up there and see some different sites! It must be spectacular in the fall which will probably be when I get back there again. I'll definitely KIT.
