Okay, here it is, re-cropped, some contract and saturation adjustments
and some contrast tweaks. (I'm glad this place is only 15 minutes from my office, I went at lunch today) :) I believe this will be my entry.

1. Man, that's gorgeous.

Edited because I'm an idiot sometimes. I mixed up some of your photos. Said another one was my favorite when it was really this one.

cemetary near where I work and get a good shot at the right time of day. It's a very cool old cemetary with some gorgeous yellow-leafed trees :)

3. Just one more adjustment will do.
Edited on Mon Nov-07-05 11:22 PM by Touchdown
go into the smudge tool. Choose 35 width and 100%. Then wipe photo from bottom to top, criss-crossing all the way from left to right. That'll make it look ALMOST as good as my entry!

EDIT: Oh' yeah! Be sure you use the gradient without a layer, and most of all... SAVE YOUR WORK! No need to make copies though.:P

5. That is a beautiful
photo and I would be late back to work if I had a place like that to head to for lunch.

7. The house is actually a bluish grey :)
Edited on Tue Nov-08-05 02:02 PM by ET Awful
The upper portion by the windows is actually a very pale blue if memory serves. If you look at my older photos from back in April, it has a bluish tinge to it there too.

If it's too grey, I know it's not saturated enough :)

It is a tad oversaturated, but I can live with that . . . mainly because I'm too lazy to work on it anymore :)

9. So, what will the theme for December be?
That's a pretty powerful "fall" photograph and definitely a vote magnet.

10. The more I look at this, the less I like it.
DS1 is right in that the saturation goes a little too far. I think I'll go back to the beginning and re-do the post processing.

I definitely want to use this image, but with a little less over-tweaking.

It just doesn't look right to me somehow.

That's okay, I have a while longer to get it right. It looks over-processed right now.

12. I think you're over analyzing
Post it on www.photo.net and ask for a rating. Sometimes they can be brutally harsh and honest.

13. Done.
I think the actual entries begin on the 14th or 15th, so I'll think about and decide for sure whether it needs a re-work or not.

16. x

It's oversaturated. Big honkin' deal. The colors work very well. It goes beyond a "snapshot" into the realm of Art.

This place only has room for one anal wonk, and I already drew that short straw. Sooo... enter the damn thing.
