*** July Contest -- the topic is "Symmetry" ***
To illuminate, let me quote the poster who first suggested it:

I envision ANYTHING symmetrical, where there are parts like a Rohrschach test. I also think a disturbance in the symmetry would be OK, if the basics are intact. Such as if there is a double window sill of two identical parts, but there are different objects on the left and right side which would make it asymmetrical in a whimsical way.

I think once your mind is geared to look for it, you'll see it everywhere.

Submissions will begin on the 11th.

1. Yes, I agree. That is truly a superior
definition. I've been having so much fun posting my "potential" symmetry photos, I'm going to have to go out shooting again! LOL! Certainly not a chore! ;-)

And so the challenge begins.

2. I went to my files. I had a few. Now that it's real, they don't look so hot.
Or too many, it's always hard since they're mine and I know their stories... I had 10 contenders in about that many minutes after looking and cropping.

So, instead of working like I should have I packed up and went down the road and shot stuff for about half an hour.
I am changing my entire attitude about the subject.
And the change is for the better, because the fascination with it has increased.

I'll have to chose and enter from "en route" - since I'm off on a little trip come Thursday.
I will be in NOLA, hopefully bringing back stuff for you to see, and if he's still willing, having dinner with Bluedigger.

I hope we have a thread of "what I will not enter" shots. I never will forget the one you did that was so successful. I think it was for the contest where the photo was connected to a song. I think that's right.

Are you game to start it?

3. Will this be another "blind" submission?
Have been out of the loop for a week.

6. Hi
We are leaving Asheville this morning. It's a long drive to to Wilmington but we should make it by this evening. It's beautiful in Asheville and I enjoyed visiting the artists' studios. We stayed up in the hills over Asheville so it was a bit cooler. Had a good hike in the NC Arboretum after the MOnday rainstorm and the temp was perfect.

7. Asheville rocks. WJMS sees to it. I like the Arboretum a lot, I go there with my kids.
I hope you will enjoy your drive through NC, it is the variety vacation land from the mountains to the ocean, and I think the South in the Summer is special.

I liked your voice. Nothing Southern there!
