Entertained while we wait by a wonderful musician who posed even before I put money in his instrument case

Waiting for the hall to open, seating is very limited, and the only way you have a real chance to get in is to be there an hour early.
But who cares. There is O'Brien's selling drinks to go, the Voodoo shop across the street, and the wonderful music

Waiting on very hard wooden benches, about 40 or max 50 of us who got in

The band was the St. George Street Playboys. They did not mention Marie in their name, but very much included her in their esteem of each other. She was the very capable jazz pianist who did a solo of Joplin's "the Sting" to die for. The window was populated throughout the concert.

I just liked these two

Last but not least the ancient lady. She had such a good time it can't be described though walking was all but impossible for her she made it to her reserved seat and also made friends with me. This is a call she made during a break.

4. Love the painting in the 3rd photo.
It seems as though you've captured the same feeling in the 6th photo. Almost like it is the same musician but years later.

5. I have to ask...
How do you like New Orleans jazz now?

So many mighty fine musicians there.

And, I HAVE to remind folks that the new David Simon series on HBO, "Treme" ( pronounced Tray-may) has completed season 1 and is a GEM, captures New Orleans right after Katrina, many actors from The Wire are in it. It is terrific!
