The first of two houses I got to photograph in the lower 9th ward

Many many lots, most, are now vacant, razed. The debris is often gone. Rebuilding is spotty except for the houses erected by Jolie - Pitt which I will show later.

New life is beginning to show itself, but mostly the lower ninth is simply empty, and seems almost abandoned.
Our own Bluedigger was kind enough to wait while I went around a bit. But I could not abuse his willingness and kindness.

This house just simply still stood the way I'm showing it, nothing around it, just weeds and empty neighboring lots.
I could not go inside, as I could in the second one I'll show later.

It's the only thing I brought back from the trip other than memories, and it is still exactly like I found it.

it makes one simply speechless to be there and consider the recent history
