But I have the Olympus C-4000Z (A younger sibling of one of the ones you are considering, I believe). I love it - and my daughter and mother also loved it so it we now have triplets.
I used it to take this closeup photo using macro. I did just a smidgen of saturation, but did not adjust anything else with respect to color:

I do not believe you can take macro on the C-4000Z in flash mode - but I haven't noticed it (in general) being slower in flash. Low light is definitely slower (even without flash), and if you do low light with no flash it will require significant color correction.
