Need recommendations for dig camera w/accurate color portrayal in closeups
My old 2.1 meg camera is fine when it comes to clarity, but it leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to portraying accurate color in the macro mode, especially with reds and browns, no matter how much time I spend trying to adjust them either on the software or the camera itself. Anything red comes out slightly orange no matter what.

I'm looking for something in the 4-5 megapixel range...something that will take a clear detailed closeup, but more importantly where I won't have to spend so much time correcting the color after the shot is taken.

After spending hours researching the camera review sites, I'm leaning toward either the Cannon A520, the Olympus Stylus 500, the Olympus C-5500, or the Canon A610. Does anyone have any experience with any of those? The only thing keeping me from buying the Canon A520 is that I keep reading that it's slower than death on crutches, especially in the flash mode.

1. Not those,
But I have the Olympus C-4000Z (A younger sibling of one of the ones you are considering, I believe). I love it - and my daughter and mother also loved it so it we now have triplets.

I used it to take this closeup photo using macro. I did just a smidgen of saturation, but did not adjust anything else with respect to color:

You can find additional images taken with the same camera (and little color correction) here: http://photogroup.smugmug.com/gallery/681553

Most any digital camera will be slower than death on crutches. I do not believe you can take macro on the C-4000Z in flash mode - but I haven't noticed it (in general) being slower in flash. Low light is definitely slower (even without flash), and if you do low light with no flash it will require significant color correction.
