Everyone post a drawing...
Edited on Tue Apr-05-05 04:50 PM by Longgrain
sketch, doodle, cartoon, whatever, so we can see everyone's drawing style. Any medium will do.

To get started, here's a few of mine...

A pen and ink study for a painting that never came to be...

This one is actually a detail taken from a painting that hangs in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, called "The Boar Hunt". The name of the artist escapes me right now, maybe I'll look it up later...

And finally, if this looks familiar, It's a pen and ink study for two women in the painting in my sig line...

Now me see what you got...

19. These are very, very nice... I am envious, I cannot work with charcoal
I am way too messy... I experiemented with charcoal in my dorm room once and after a couple hours it was like I was coal miner, blackened from head to toe. For weeks, there was a black layer of soot covering everything in my room.

6. You people leave me in the dust with your drawings.
I rarely, rarely draw and I know I should draw more. But I find it so much expedient to draw with the paint brush that I never even pick up a pencil or charcoal anymore. Ya'll are shaming me back into what I know is a good, good habit for every artist to have.

(Longgrain, you draw with a free spirit. Thanks for reminding that this is what it's all about. If you ever get a chance, look at the drawings of Schiele and Klimt. Lush and inspiring.)

It was a fun thread, interesting to see what everyone is capable of doing, not just those who pursue art on a deeper level.

12. Sorry didn't know you were looking for help
Check FAQs on the home page, but if you can get a picture onto your computer (i.e. Camera, scanner) you can easily get it on-line.

First you need either a personal web space, or a free-server such as photobucket.com.

Then it's simply a matter of coping the URL and pasting it in your message.

The Photobucket website itself should be able to give you a more concise and detailed explanation, but those are the basics.

Thankyou by the way. I did that in the paint shop, starting by making the face with dots, just messing around.

P.S. I also posted in the computer support group about posting an image. No reply yet.

17. Now someone in the computer support group told me to change
the image from 'bmp' but didn't tell me how I could do that. I've been playing around with this all day today with no real results. It's frustrating! Did you have to change things around at photobucket before post at du? I'm really lost here. Maybe I'll just go back to my drawing table and easels, they're easier that messing with all this.

Edited on Wed May-04-05 09:15 PM by icymist

Yea!!! It works!!! So I learned that pictures can't be posted at the DU in BMP and it must be converted. This image is of the Were-rat, a character I created for a short story I wrote a few years back. She's holding a rat puppet.

22. Here goes...
Here's the print from a linoleum cut I did a few years back.

Took the skull portion and spray painted it on the back of a fatigue jacket. It's my winter coat now.

Here's a self portrait from a few years ago. I love watercolors.

A quick watercolor of one of my mom's orchids.

Another self portrait, this time it was acrylics. This was only my 3rd painting in acrylics... so not my favorite.

Pen & ink of Cthulhu the elder god... this one's actually from about 4 or 5 years ago.

I have more but I have no clue where I saved the pictures of them.
