new dishwasher

well we went to the auction and the one there was missing too many pieces and had big dents in the front. I probably woulda given em $40 but those idiots bid it up to $135!!! for a DW that sells new for $279, so.....

i get home and there's a gal on ebay that just bought all new appliances a year after the old homeowners had completely re did the kitchen prior to selling the house

so I got a complete year old Frigidaire for $75 and we got it today and installed it

it has a couple features I really wanted,

a) start delay
b) rinse aid level indicator
c) water heat booster

and the BIG reason, it's WHITE so it doesn't fight with the new sink and stove

install was easy except we didn't have a shut off for the water (it's plumbed BEHIND the shutoff, so we just caught the water in a bucket for the hour it took us

so here's the old one and the new one (the last appliance upgrade before we sell in a couple years

I have one I'm trying to get rid of (I bought it to replace out the one in the house that burned and never got a chance to install it) but I'm a bit far away from you.

By the way, we have the same faucet.

The white works perfectly.

about 4 gallons hehehe and

OOPS, Mr K says it was plumbed correctly, it's just pretty limed up so the valve wouldn't close all the way down. It just dribbled and dripped, not a stream by any means

The new faucet looks great, too.

We replaced the dishwasher when we moved in. I got the new one at the scratch and dent place. The cool thing is, you can't even see the dent if you don't know where it is. My stove is scratch and dent, too. The side panel is dented, but you can't see it when it is installed.

So how does it wash? Can you skip rinsing now?

so the first trial was truly uninspiring. I really like the towerless design though so far

It seemed to do better the second round with the heat booster. I purposefully didn't worry about getting a high end unit since we are selling in a couple years, I'll save the "big guns" for the new house :)

This came from the instructions for the one we put in last year (two years ago?). Run the hot water at the sink just before turning on the dishwasher. That prevents the first bunch of cold water from getting to the dishwasher. The heater works better and the water's hotter cuz there's no cold water in the system.

and it helps with the first cycle, but not so much with the rest of the cycles

it has a "rinse and hold" so I'll be playing with that little goodie too....

It looks great and at only one year old, it will service you guys well. Mine just beeped four beeps. Must be beeps of approval! ;)

it's really not any better at CLEANING than the old one, but it LOOKS mahvelous dahling!
