the prom dress--download warning

I don't have pictures of the other dress yet, although I made it very clear that pictures were expected!

Your daughter looks radiant, and that color is so becoming. What wonderful work, and on a short deadline, no less!

5. her faith in me to come through was so absolute.........
I had to come through! And then she told her buddy that she would make a dress for her, and I couldn't let her be disappointed........yeah, I'm a sucker. Yesterday I cut out the dress for graduation and finished it this morning. This being laid off is working out for us. lol

6. WOW
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent job. Excellent style. Excellent color. Your daughter is model-beautiful. The green is just perfect on her! Truly, I did not see a more beautiful dress in even the high end shops while prom shopping this year. The front is gorgeous, but the back is truly outstanding. I love the way it drapes. You must be so proud that you made it yourself. Joneschick you did good!

8. She looks fantastic..what a gorgeous color...may I ask how much you spent
on fabric? I live in a fabric deprived town and have to order online...sigh.

9. I think the dress was less than $30
but then I'm a mad couponer! THe fabric was $7.99/yd, used 4 or 5 yds and used the 40% off any regular price fabric coupon. The pattern was purchased at 75% off when JoAnn Fabrics moved a year or so ago. (I bought a bunch of the Vintage Vogue patterns in different sizes for my stash) THe dress is unlined as designed, but if I were to do it again I would self line at least the bodice. Hey, I should be posting in the Frugal Forum!

Thanks everyone for your lavish compliments and kind words!
