The Book of Daniel blogsite
DIOCESE OF WASHINGTON SPONSORS BLOG ON NEW TV SERIES "THE BOOK OF DANIEL"

NBC’s new series, “The Book of Daniel,” which features an Episcopal priest and his fractious family is already stirring controversy, and viewers can talk about it on a new blog dedicated sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.

The Blog of Daniel (www.blogofdaniel.com) will debut on Thursday, January 5, one day before the first episode of the show.

“Some people are going to love “Daniel”, and some are going to hate it,” said Jim Naughton, the diocese’s director of communications. “We wanted to give them a place to share their opinions.

“Our ulterior motive was to draw people to a site where we can provide them information about real Episcopalians, what we stand for and all our Church has to offer.”

The site features links to the Episcopal Church’s online Visitors Center, the Diocese of Washington’s Web site (edow.org) and a short film that examines the faith of four local Episcopalians.

1. This sounds terrific!
Is there any idea yet on when it's going to air?
I'll set the VCR for this one.

One of my favorite comments on the idea of the show:

I welcome an attempt to portray church and ministerial life frankly. I find most film attempts alienating and sappy. The last good series on church and ministry was "Nothing Sacred"--too honest to last long. We seem to prefer the clergy version of "Precious Moments."

My wife currently serves on the Diocesan Council, sort of the Board of Directors for the diocese.

Bishop Chane is very cool, very liberal, very left.

where was this news story first published? there isn't a link.
