Man shall not live by bread alone
By Seth Jackson

Using faith as the only guide to our decisions, is about as sophisticated as only using doubt. Both are a buffet of opinions bouncing around in the dark waiting for reason to light the way by processing and deciding between the two.

1. Hi everybody, I'm back since somebody gave me a star. Anyway...
the Episcopal approach is to talk about the "three-legged stool" of Scripture, tradition, and reason.

3. Missed her even though she ignored the Wesleyan quadrilateral
of Scripture, Tradition, Reason, and Experience?

Your Methodism is slipping.

4. Wesley started out as an Anglican
I can't help it if he couldn't balance on a three-legged stool. :P

Anyway, yes, it's nice to be back here. :loveya:

7. I only know two Missouri Synod Lutherans...
...an aunt and uncle. Nicest people in my family, too. They're not even our "Republican relatives" — they're lifelong Democrats and members of the teachers' union. They're pretty socially conservative, but I just can't picture them being mean or intolerant to a gay person. They just switched churches because the church they'd been attending for decades became too negative.

I'd like to think that all Missouri Synod Lutherans are like them, but obviously, since they felt compelled to leave their church, they aren't. :(
