(anyone having their feet washed today?)

25+ years ago. It really didn't fly too well, so it didn't continue.

We had a simple (pot luck) supper followed by Holy Communion whils still sitting around the table, imitating the Last Supper.

Oh, and a joyous Purim as well, everyone!

in our church we wash eachother's feet...
wonderful and emotional sharing experience,
a cleansing of the soul through one's foot sole.

By the way, my four-year-old niece politely declined to have the Episcopalian priest wash her feet (she goes to school there). All of the other kids went for it - not my niece (stated she washed her own feet).

I laughed when I heard the story - got to know Miss E to understand. She marches to her own drummer.

Episcopal schools are neat. I did not go to one, but one of my best friends did...

My sister was trying to tell me the story - lucky you guys clued me in. Now, the washing of the feet ... it symbolizes ...

The washing symbolizes Jesus' washing of his disciples' feet at the last supper as recorded in John's Gospel. It symbolizes leadership as service to other human beings, not as lording your power over people.

P.S. We just switched internet services, and are having experiencing some adjustments (to Verizon).

I have to ask my 8-year-old daughter if I can use her computer, due to its location (vis-a-vis our household wireless network - until my husband gets things fixed up). Do you know what it is like to ask an 8-year-old for permission to use something? You have to promise to do all these things for her!

LOL, never had to ask an eight year old for anything...
