Has anyone read this book? Care to offer any opinions?
I heard lots of good things about it when it came out, but don't remember now what they were. This weekend at a friend's house, a copy was lying out and I browsed it a bit. My impression was that it seemed pretty good and useful and maybe inspirational.

it but i think it may have been due to "Unique set of Circumstances" ..unique to him.
not that we cant also learn from it.
My personal opinion is that it is a German perspective of Buddhism... without the Dharma: specific practice: the instruction manual.
Zen might relate.. spontaneous enlightenment without the details. which is very very very rare.. even among monastic zen monks who practice and meditate all the time and also have an enlightened master.
but i find any new information interesting.. But i wasn't motivated to stray from Buddhism.. although he uses some of its consepts and language. ...simpler isn't always better.
