Bad dream and interesting twist...
Last night, I had a very vivid dream. It was almost like a flashback--incredibly powerful and clear.

In the dream, it was an average day. People were milling about and many cars were on the streets. Out of the sky, a military planes descends, and I watch. The plane is dark blue, and flat with a large wingspan--like a B1 maybe. I'm not scared, all of this strikes me as odd. Pretty quickly, it becomes clear that one plane is flying incredibly low. Suddenly, it releases a dark blue blue-square object--and I know it is a nuclear bomb.

Immediately everyone begins running away. I'm with my husband, and I'm thinking that we are toast. We left the kids at home, and I remember thinking to just run toward home. I see people taking cover behind fences, but we're out in the open--just running for cover.

Then another plane flies over and releases another bomb. We're still running, and the dream ends.

I woke up from the dream, and it really left me with strong emotions. Most dreams don't. I still can't shake those vivid images and feelings.

This morning, after I awoke, my 5-year old daughter says, "Mommy, I had a really scary dream just now." I gave her a hug and asked her what her dream was about. She said, "The Earth was shaking and shaking and shaking and then there was a huge explosion. It exploded everywhere and then the dinosaurs came back to the Earth and they lived there for a long time."

Quite the coincidence, I thought.

Has anyone had a dream that felt like more than a dream--like a premonition? Or has a dream left you with very strong emotions that stick throughout the day?

Thanks for listening...

1. No dreams here
But I think your premonitions are correct, we may be in deep doo-doo fairly soon...

2. No, I haven't. I can understand why you'd feel the way that you do...
given the fact that your daughter had such a similar dream. :scared:

3. I had a very vivid dream Sunday night ... it was very weird .
I dreamed that there was a giant flood that swept all of the Middle of the United States . I saw a map in my dream and the only states left were Maine , New Hampshire , parts of the Central Northern states . I dreamed that everything got dark ... I somehow ended up in Florida in this place and I was one of the chosen ones sent to evacuate away from the storm . The place looked like a giant space ship . Somehow the word got around that we were not going to be evacuated . Suddenly word got to us and in my dream I could feel the fear . We only had one more day to live ... talk about pain ... only having one more day to live ... having to be normal and just wait the time out - in my dream I was trying to be normal going about my day . I started to take a shower , I pulled my hair into a long pony tail . I looked into the mirror and I felt that I was about 28 years old - ( right now I am 25 ) I looked in the mirror and I felt so beautiful and then I started to cry - I saw myself crying in the mirror because I got reminded that tomorrow its all gone ... so suddenly I found myself in a car heading down the highway with some relatives . I was on the same highway that I take when I go to work . It was dark - it was so dark . I looked on the other side of the highway heading back to town and there were no cars at all going back into the city ... suddenly we end up in another city . By this time I am with some family . The highway turned into a small highway . I am out of the car with my family and we are walking . We walk to a gas station because we need supplies and gas . My aunt appears and she tells my cousin ( her son ) to go to his father - she is telling him to slow down and wait for his son . I look and I see this man at the gas station with a big rig truck and ammo . I asked how did he get all of this stuff - he told me " after September 11 , I am not taking any chances " - this hit me like whoa . Suddenly it was day light . We end up in what my dream tells me is California ... By this time its me , my oldest aunt , one of my little cousin and I honestly believe another cousin ( I do have a cousin who is pregnant at the moment so this could be her child ) . We end up in this parking lot of people of cars just gathered ... We need a car - we find a car and we hurry and get in - we feel protected but we don't have any gas . Suddenly we feel cars helping us and pushing us . We get food , we get sandwiches as rations . I can see myself in the dream taking majority of my sandwich and giving it to my younger cousin in the front seat . The next thing I know , we are back in my city . I am in the back seat and my cousin ( who I don't know , maybe a cousin from the future or another dimension ,I felt a kinship ) starts to get sick ... Weird enough a bowl of grains appears in my lap - something tells me to give the grains to my cousin ... she gets healthy and she is suddenly older ...

I woke up like WTF - I don't know what this dream was about at all but I have been having weird dreams like this all month . This dream was true - I did not make any of this up at all .

4. What are you doing in my nightmares?
MMMore than 40 years ago, I saw the Plains, as far north as Central Alberta, flooded entirely out... all that remained of America was the Appalachian Archipelago, and the High Plains between the Rockies and the Sierras... everything else -- including Florida and the Carolinas, was gone... No New York, no Ohio... no Kentucky... no California, either, or my current home, the Pacific Northwest... all GONE!

MMBack in the late sixties, some hippie "guru" told me that Howard Hughes had plans for a multi-million-dollar ocean port... in Las Vegas! This fella claimed that this "fact" was proof of the impending "End Of The World"... or, at least, of the Great California Sayanara, in which all of the Golden State west of the Sierras would just... slide... on... in... to... the ocean!

MMI asked him for some of what he'd been smoking, and he shared some of the best herb I had (to that time) ever inhaled... I wrote his "news" off to his being more than milly debilitated, but I've wondered...

MMWhen Mt Saint Helens went off -- not the first time, in May '80, but later that year, in August -- I had the sudden thought that, perhaps, the "End-Of-The-World" crowd was not altogether wrong...

MMMore than one of my trusted sisters has tol me of dreams quite similar to yours... including parts in which we were traveling the "Badlands", rescuing those few survivors who had not yet gone feral, and somehow getting them to a redoubt up in that northern "safe zone"... We especially sought children, and women of "breeding age", because our numbers had been so reuced that there was actual danger that homo sap JUST MIGHT cease to exist...

MMGrant you, some might say that this is a GOOD thing... myself, being one, I tend to disagree.

MMBesides: there are people in this forum (you, amongst them) who belie the notion that "Man is the problem in the Earth"...

MMSo... am I nuts, or do we have something to talk about? PM me if you like...

6. We have some things to talk about .
" Man is the problem in the Earth " is exactly how I feel when I am in these dreams and I am always surrounded by women of child breeding age and older women who are maternal warriors . It makes me thing maybe there is a change that is going to occur . I have some other ideas but I will PM them to you later when I get home from work .

5. You too?
People around me have been having nightmares. I don't remember my dreams, but I have tended to snap awake after ~3 hours with screams and explosions ringing in my head most nights for the past month.

I think the American subconscious is processing feelings of guilt and shame (and fear) concerning Iraq and Katrina, but that's just a guess on my part.

7. I don't think my dreams have anything to do with Iraq and Katrina .
I have always had these kinds of senses since I was a child - they made me scared but as I got older I realized that I had these dreams for a reason and it just a message to be prepared . I had a dream about a month ago that there was a giant volcano that erupted and the entire sky was in a cloud of ash . There was no sunlight . But somehow , my mom , my brother and I survived and we were in my house protected . There is something going on ...

9. A disturbance in the Force
I felt it, a lot of others did, and when I asked my subconscious why, it only flashed me a picture of that mosque that got blown up. So that means that's what's bothering me, specifically. I get the feeling there's something I'm not being told about this. It's hard to explain...

What do you think the dreams are about in your case?

11. I think that the dreams are telling me honestly ...
that " love " and " peace " are leaving the minds of people . People are becoming greedy and not caring about other people . Souls are being hurt . Hearts are being broken . People are being uncareful and too risky . That's a little bit of what I think . Good things are being forgotten and thrown away - its like the good precious are thrown away and destroyed ( I am talking about good people with good hearts being hurt by others and also good things and ideas being destroyed ) while bad things ( risky behavior sexual wise , broken hearts , divorces , infidelity , cheating , greed with money and just carelessness all around ) is too much . I know I am not right about everything but that's what I feel is wrong with the world .

8. not long ago (couple of months back) I did dream of a disaster...
an emotionally vivid dream, where I was standing at gas station on corner near my home and was listening to a radio broadcast telling about an impending disaster that involved huge damage to a part of the atmosphere (caused by I-know-not-what). The broadcast said that scientists were now revising their estimates of the time until the atmosphere ignited (yep, ignited into flame that would both consume the oxygen and incinerate the planet) from days to hours, and said that scientists now gave up on notion that they could prevent the disaster. Moments later they said that it was now a matter of minutes. I looked up and could see brilliant colors permeating the sky, spreading like a watercolor wash.

I thought, "Perhaps I can get home...there might be time if I hurry." I was aware of an intense desire to be there with my (grown) children as the world went up in flames.
