3. Methany is hit or miss for me

But I appreciate his willingness to go out (except for Zero Tolerance), and love his trio work. Song X with Ornette Coleman is a masterpiece, revealing Methany as a true master of all jazz idioms. Just can't take the Lyle Mays stuff. Respect it, but can't stand it.

Huge fan of artists like David S. Ware, Tim Berne, William Parker, and Anthony Braxton.

As for more classic jazz, love Eric Dolphy, Jackie McLean, and Joe Henderson get frequent plays. And fanatical obsession for Woody Shaw, who tragically died too early, and is criminally underrated.

Current favorite artist from the label - Tomasz Stanko. But very diverse roster of artists.....well worth a listen.
