Zendik Music Festival on August 11th
The following is an email from the apparently harmless semi-cultish Zendik commune:

subject Zendik Farm Update

Hey everyone,

I don't know how many of you follow the website, www.zendik.org but we're regularly changing it, setting up new photos, essays, editorials, and videos.

****The big news is that we are holding our Zendik Music Festival on August 11th. There will be a lot of different types of music, camping, swimming, hiking, etc. We encourage all of you who are able to attend. It's all about laid-back non-corporate fun. It could be a good time to visit, especially if you want to help work with us, setting up the stage, etc. and get to know us. More details are at zendik.org****

Since we last wrote a mass email, we've revamped a lot on the site. Be sure to watch for Urs's film entitled "Barn Mucking" and Wulf's essay "Our War", which was written after the first Iraq invasion. We will be soon releasing the newest "Arol & the Zendik Band" album as well.

Also, if it's been awhile since you last visited the website, you'll some other new stuff: new photos of the farm's progression - new decks, studios, barns, wildflower gardens, etc. It's a strange situation we live in here. We have a large homestead that requires much work as we do all of our own building, gardening, farming, animal care, mechanics (including the production of biodiesel to run our trucks and tractor). At the same time we produce much art - paintings, drawings, posters, pen and ink, murals, tile work, music, dance, video production, computer art, maintenance of a huge website, magazine and book production, tee-shirt and bumper sticker production, especially "Stop Bitching Start a Revolution" which has become hugely popular and seen worldwide - all of this is part of the Zendik international movement.

Many of you have met us on the streets at one time or another, from New Orleans, to Boston, D.C., New York, out west and everywhere in between. Yes, we've been growing enormously, with many of you associating with us in different ways. By the way, lots of people are now carrying their Zendik Action Party cards and if you'd like one, let us know.

As this movement grows, many people may not know the fact that "Zendik" is a place to live, not just a movement. Zendik Farm is located in the mountains of West Virginia on 200+ acres that border a National Forest. Our pond draws many water and migrating birds. I have seen in one morning swallows, goldfinches, robins, kingfishers and an immature bald eagle. We also have bears, foxes, deer, racoons, bobcats and more. Our gardens are extensive and our kids have a great time. It's a place where communal living actually happens. The Farm is our beautiful home and refuge.

As you know, we're all stuck in this system which kills everything. They own the food supply, the electricity, the roads, and the resources. But they don't own a bit of our minds, souls, or hearts... and with that little bit that's left in all of us we can create another system - so keep in touch.

Love,
Arol
