Thursday, 8/25: I'm taking the day off today--what's your story
My shoulder is really hurting me today. It was sore yesterday and I thought maybe I had slept on it wrong. I tried a heating pad and some Aspercream last night, and when I woke up today, it was worse. I'm thinking now that it may be bursitis.

I'm going to ice it a few times today and take tylenol (I'm not allowed to take ibuprofen) and hopefully that will do the trick.

1. I've been off for the last week
I've been selling and buying a house so my schedule has been crazy. As soon as we are settled in it's back to the gym 5 days a week.

2. I almost pushed myself too hard this morning
I got out there and really gave it my all, and was feeling pretty worn out at the end. I think my maximum distance is going to be in the range of 7 - 8 miles for at least the next couple weeks, because this ride (my 7th) was really too much:

Time (Tm): 1h 05m 55s
Average Speed (AS): 10.3mph
Maximum Speed (MS): 17.6mph
Distance (Ds): 11.29 miles

The day when I can do this without batting an eye won't be too far off, but for now I'm not going to attempt to top that distance until I'm confident I can handle it.

I'm off now to take a nap before work. :)

9. You know what I like?
I like seeing guys that look like they are twice as strong as I am working out with the same weight that I do. I saw that the other day on an abdominal machine and I saw it today on a arm curl machine. Of course that works both ways. There is a guy I've seen in there that probably weighs a buck eighty, but he is twice as strong as I am. On the lat pull down machine he sets the weight at 250, sits down and wraps his legs around the post that is bolted into the floor, and goes to town. I work out with 160 on that machine and it takes everything I've got to do 3 sets of 10.

Anyway I had a good weight lifting session and then I went for a 1 mile walk. I wanted to increase the distance that I walk, but I did not have time today.

11. I'm not sure what to do.....
I was thinking about taking the day off. Then thought I would come in here to post and see about getting some motivation from folks, and find this thread! :P

It was like I was destined to take the day off. 3 days in a row, pretty hard on the elliptical, a ton of yard work on Sunday that burned a ton of calories, justification for not working out creeping in.

Then down the thread, Mrs. Sniffa and her to contributions, which I know I will be like after I work out, if I do.

What to do, what to do....

13. Thanks Mrs. Sniffa....
I am almost there(mentally)..I've already turned the corner. Looked at the time, knowing I have it. The kids are playing in their pool out back(kiddie type pool but a little bigger).
I can see them from the window while I ride.....at least once I am done I can crack the whip and get them on their chores too!

14. Went to the gym even though it's a madhouse...
All the huge guys competing for the small amount of equipment that's still there. This is WEAK! And the testosterone levels were through the roof - kinda scary! At least they were starting to wheel in the new stuff today, but I don't know, it looks weird. Lots of stainless steel machines and I didn't see a tremendous amount of benches, and the ones I did see were kinda funky brushed stainless steel. I think they're trying to make it look more hip.

Whatever! The machinery is not the thing that should be impressing me visually at the gym!!! It's my progress I'm watching, of course!!!

16. did a shortened lifting routine this morning.
got up at 6 to go to the eye doc...got back, tired as hell cause i couldnt sleep last night. did some lifting, but not my whole routine because i was tired enough as is and i still had an 11 hour workday ahead of me. so i worked out but i shoulda done more, but hey, go easy on me, ive been workin alot of overtime this week and have alot else to do so this type of thing kinda gets lost in the grind.

17. I went to the club
I did 1.6 miles/30min on the treadmill and 4.5 miles/15 min on the recumbent bike. I also saw my personal trainer for a weigh-in and measurements. I've lost 4.5lbs, 0.8% body fat, 1/2" on my hips, 1" on my thighs and 3/4" on my shoulders. I gained 1/2" on my arms but I'll chalk that up to added muscle
