I will go and buy ingredients if necessary - but nothing too exotic - please.

Casien? Whey? Combo?

This is very hard to do to simulate the real protien powder in your own home unless you want to blend up some tuna and milk?

You're better off just bying it. There are cheap places online, PM me and I can give all the ones I've bought mine from to you.

My standard shake is: banana, skim milk, frozen berries, ice, and whey protein.

A good filling one for breakfast is cooked oatmeal, frozen berries, ice, water, and whey protein. The berries help offset the bland taste of oatmeal.

Experiment a bit and throw whatever you have into the blender: fruit, yogurt, peanut butter, spirulina,...

You can also try soy protein isolate, but find a protein that matches your goals: muscle gain or fat loss.
