Tried the "Dancing With The Stars" exercise DVD set
Two DVD's, "Latin Cardio Dance" and "Cardio Dance".

Both are very good, very entertaining, very challenging, and are great on rainy days or on cross-training days. Great for updating and adding to your dance steps.

The not-so-good points--these are not geared for beginners, esp. Cardio Dance where the explanations are few and movement is much. Even an experienced dancer as myself got lost on some parts, esp. some of the new steps I hadn't seen or tried before. I could see how someone without dance experience would be quickly frustrated trying to keep up. If you keep moving and trying, you get a good workout and "free" dance lessons. (Reminder: this is a workout based on dance, not dance instruction.) You can select the parts you want and not go the whole 60 mins. They also need a good bit of open floor space, so move the furniture and stuff out of the way.

I see how the DWTS dance pros get into the shape they're in--this is WORK. If you like to sweat and/or like to dance, these are great. If one is new to exercise, new to dance, or easily frustrated, don't get these.

1. Professional dancers
are as in shape as any athlete.

I give :applause: to anyone who can follow DVDs. :D

I am not athletic at all and most of them go to fast for me. I'd spend hours just learning the routines, never mind getting my heart rate up. ;-)

2. Tried the "Drop It With Dance" DVD
by Prevention Fitness Systems. A 45-min DVD with 3 main dance sections: Hip-Hop, Reggae-Funk, 90's Dance, along with the warm-up and cool-down sections. A very nice video, the movements aren't too complex, suitable for beginners, but work enough for the more experienced. This DVD is good for the not-so-fit and coordinated. This is a very good DVD as an extra medium workout for higher fitness levels.
