Frank Luntz playbook on how to defeat Dems = a PDF on line
The GOP is trying to sell the idea that there was no stolen election - that the fellow who screws up is "re-elected" because he is more credible that the other fellow.

1. That's the official story, and it seems plausible enough if you want

to believe it, which most people do.

No one wants to believe the reality...that their country is toast.

And it's right on one thing: Current Dems are mostly lacking in the "says what he means and means what he says" category.

A lot of them, Kerry included, say what's convenient at the time and then backpedal when they find it convenient to do so.

Our Dems are too handled, and don't even seem to know why they believe in the positions they believe in half the time.

Republicans may be crazy, but they at least seem to genuinely believe some of the stuff they say. That appeals to voters.

2. let's not call them voters -- let's call them americans.
and admit that the character of our citizenry is as much up for conversation since the election in 2000 as anything else.

it was not a secret that something fishy that deserved a close look happened in florida -- the lack of outrage in the citizenry{yeah, yeah, the leadership -- i know} is disturbing to say the least.

to believing what he was saying -

and God Knows Gore walked the walk of his talk.

Winning appears to be - after theft - based on acting ability and control of the media more than true conviction - at least in my opinion.

5. I disagree.
For whatever reason, Kerry never said, "The only mistake I made was believing the President's case for war."

If he had said that, he would have been in the clear.

He constantly waffled on it, though, and I don't even believe he wanted to vote for the IWR; I think he did it to pass some bogus "national security test."

Diebold aside, Kerry made some serious mistakes, and most of them involved not standing up for his beliefs forcefully enough.

4. Yep. So far the only Dems I've heard that say what they mean are
Howard Dean and Paul Hackett!

I sure wish Dean would call a big training class, and force any Dem who is or wants to be a candidate to attend.

Please Howard, TEACH THEM ALL HOW TO BE REAL!

6. It's a Good Playbook
Very instructive. About half of it applies to Democrats equally well.
