Jimmy Carter's son Jack announces campaign for Nevada Senate seat

"HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - With his parents looking on, Jack Carter, the oldest son of former President Jimmy Carter, announced Monday that he will seek the Democratic nomination for one of Nevada's U.S. Senate seats."

Carter called for a return to "common sense, honesty, integrity and a desire for good government."

"I believe our government has moved away from our core values. It has abandoned international cooperation by unilaterally rejecting long-term agreements," he said in beginning his campaign at a union hall near Las Vegas. "All we need is a return to our American values and new leadership."

Here's the link to Carter's website:

"...seeking solutions for the good of our community - combined with good sense, an entrepreneurial spirit, hard work, a respect for others, a sense of justice, and a high regard for individual freedom will soon show the way to effective healthcare, better education, a more efficient government, a return to the respect our Country has always had among the nations of the world, and a better world for our children"

-- A better world for our children. That's the real American dream.

1. Thank God!
I hope the good people of Nevada will do the right thing and vote for him. As much of a bad rap his Dad got after the Iran Hostage crisis, he still is an extremely intelligent, compassionate and decent man. I hope the apple in this case isn't falling far from the tree...
