Can we survive our leaders' cowardice and "moderation"?

Pelosi and Reid keep rolling over for the Dubster on everything that matters.

There's no real sign they'll make a serious effort to stop the war in September.

They are worried about passing stuff the Dub might sign, when the truth is the only tactic that makes sense is to make him veto good stuff and then nail him on the hustings for the vetos.

How can anybody defend this notion that we shouldn't treat our huge 2006 victory as if it WAS a victory?

How can we prevent the loss of millions of progressive voters to minor-parties or just to apathy if our party continues to lower itself to "we're NOT the GOP and that'a all anybody has the right to expect"?

I want to win. I think most DU'ers want to win.

DO OUR LEADERS WANT TO WIN, OR NOT?

The only way to do it is to MOBILIZE THE PROGRESSIVE RAINBOW PEOPLE'S MAJORITY.

As someone who donated money and worked HARD as a volunteer for Kerry and the Democratic Party in 2004, I've had enough. The democratic leadership is either too stupid to realize that you're pawns of the far right or hopelessly, cynically corrupt.

Which is it?

The Democrats have repeatedly demonstrated a profound moral cowardice when called upon to fight for the ideals upon which this country was founded.

Pity. May God save America's democracy. The Democrats certainly won't even try.

P.S:: I will not be participating in the next election. America now has a pay-to-play system. The common voter, with his one puny vote, hasn't a chance. So don't ask for money. Don't ask that I volunteer. If you haven't the backbone to stand up for what is right, for what is just, for what is moral, don't expect that the average citizen will fight for you or your party.

the party rank & file should look at a total housecleaning of all non-progressives. By this I mean people whose ACTIONS have aided and abetted the bush/cheney junta. Talking about important issues and saying the right thing is useless if you just roll over and play dead for the GOP-theocrats when actual legislation is being voted upon.

I would even take back-to-back losses in 2008 & 2012 if it meant that a true progressive majority called the shots for the party from 2016 on. Given the demographic trends, such a transition would most likely ensure a progressive Congressional majority for the rest of my lifetime, and win the White House almost at will. The country is PROGRESSIVE, why the hell isn't our party????
