The defeat of Martha Coakley in the race to succeed Ted Kennedy certainly shows the folly of counting votes on electronic voting machines that are not going to be audited even if it is theoretically possible for this to happen.

Did anybody do a real exit poll?

By "real" I mean one that does not purposely maniipulate the result to take into account the usual "democratic" bias in polling?

The results show that the votes on the ES&S machines favored Brown by a large percentage, the votes on Diebold (AKA Premier) favored Brown by a considerable margin, the hand-counted votes, as indicated, favored Coakley by a fairly small percentage (about 2-3% I think).

The only result that can be more or less trusted is the hand count obviously. The other results are not worth the computer bytes they are written with.
