Alaska race going the way of Florida?
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 03:29 PM by Betty Karlson
At 9.00 PM Eastern Time, check out Republican senator Lisa Murkowski's press conference.

Ms Murkowski may be nicknamed "liberal Lisa" by the Tea Partiers, but we disagree with her. She's a nepotist of the worst kind, and that's the kindest thing I'll say about her. Even so, she was denied a renomination for the Republican slot in the upcoming senate race by Ms Palin's footfolk. And it seems she wants to get back at them by a write-in nomination for the Alaskan senate seat.

Will she take the moderate and centre vote in Alaska, like Charlie Crist is doing in Florida? Will the Alaskan Democrat have a better chance of winning the seat, with Lisa and the Teabaggers having a rematch? (Remember: in a three way race, getting near 45 % of the vote suffices for a substantial lead, getting 35 % is enough to have a shot at winning.)

McConnell and Cornyn have approved of her plans, or so it seems. They were seen smiling and chuckling when talking to the nepotist. This could dismay us. On the other hand: we could see it as the opening salvo of the Republican Civil War (2010 - 2012*)

*Personally, I don't see the GOP lasting in its present form beyond 2012.

1. Well, If she takes votes from the Republica of Tea...
And the Democrats resist shitting peach pits and vote for the Scott McAdams it can only help.

I have no problem with a civil war in the Republican Party.
