Why not impeach Alito and Roberts?
In the school segregation ruling, these two men were not
handing down a ruling based on the laws of the land. They were
shoving ideology down our throats and as I understand
it.....that is not allowed.

I wonder if a majority of Americans think it is more important
to have a supremne court that interprets and rules according
to law rather than according to what their own political party
thinks? Would they vote to kick them out?

2. In lieu of dragging them out of the courthouse
and hanging them from the nearest lamppost, I could go for impeachment. It's legal and I like law, even though there is no longer any in this nation.

3. Scalia and Thomas are more deserving
Both had close relatives working for pay for the Bush/Cheney 2000 campaign. They didn't recuse themselves from Bush v. Gore.

But it's probably too late to float that idea.

4. Just add two more justices to the court under a Dem President
and let these guys grow old writing dissenting opinions. The court HAS to be packed to stop these assholes.

5. Personally why not work for an eventual limits for justices
Roberts and Alito may be there for at least a quarter of century. How about a constitutional amendment for a 15 year limit for justices.

6. It won't pass the Senate is a an excellent reason not to go this route
Sorry friends, there is just not enough here to remove them from office and the attempt to will make us look more than bad. Also when the Repukes get power they would return the favor.

The time to block this was during confirmation. At this point there is little than can be done.

In 2003 the right wing nuts were talking about impeaching Kennedy, Ginsburg and the rest of the liberals. It was never shown the light of day in Congress, as this should never see daylight either.

Your assertion that they did not had down rulings based on the laws of the land and are shoving ideology down our throats is hyperbole. Brown v BOE, Roe v Wade, and others were quite a bit more revolutionary and larger breaks from precedent that the ones handed down this week. That does not mean I agree with them, just that the hysteria that I have been seeing is on the order of that the imams generated against some Danish cartoons most of them had never seen.

Lets take a deep breath, lets see what this means in real world terms, and lets get on with doing what needs to be done.

7. never, ever, going to happen

William O. Douglas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The hearings began in late April 1970, and Ford was the main witness, attacking Douglas' “liberal opinions,” his “defense of the "filthy" film I Am Curious (Yellow), and his ties with the aforementioned Parvin. Additionally, he was criticized for accepting $350.00 for an article he wrote on folk music for the magazine Avant Garde. The magazine’s publisher had served a prison sentence for the distribution of another magazine in 1966 that had been deemed pornographic."

9. I agree...
Thom Hartmann said on his program that it's pretty clear that Roberts and Alito lied under oath to Congress during their confirmation hearings..

As part of the national civics lesson, I want justice to prevail... indict and imprison BushCo and impeach the Supremes...

11. It would probably be easier and quicker to just dig up some dirt on them
and I'll bet there's plenty. Then they could either be blackmailed or shamed off the bench. (Yeah, I know it's Rovian, but I want these guys gone.)

14. i may be wrong
but IIRC this ruling was just saying that schools didnt have to go out of there way to make their schools multi-racial...the problem was that students were being bussed to different schools outside of their towns to "equalize" the racial make up of the schools...if i this is true..i dont know about the legal precedence behind the ruling, but thank god cause this is such a stupid policy, and a waste of School district money on bussing...also what would be the purpose of having school disctrict zones?
