Anyone speak or learning Portuguese?

Besides me, that is.

Falo muito bem mas não escrevo o português bem. Tenho que pensar um poquinho antes que escrever porque não lembro escrever muitas palavras. Morei no Ceará, Brasil muito tempo, então aprendei 'nordestino'. ;) Sou jumento do nordeste! :D

See, here's the frustrating thing about my Portuguese. I understand everything REALLY well, both spoken and written, but am lost when it comes to speaking and writing. It probably doesn't help that I'm fluent in Spanish, and it's just really hard for me to go back OUT of my comfort zone to speak a new language. I worked so hard to get good at Spanish! The portuguese I'm learning is pretty northeast brazilian as well, as one of my best friends was a missionary there for four years. I like the way it sounds better than south brazilian portuguese. Well, maybe tonight when I have more time I'll try to hack out a response to you in portuguese...wish me luck:think:

Eu falei espanhol muito bem antes que aprender o português, mas agora não falo espanhol bem... quando abra a boca, português saia. x( ... Entiendo el espaõl muy bien (yo viví en Costa Rica y España) y puedo escribir y leer también, pero tengo problemas de hablar. Solamente necesito volver a España para un toque, y podré hablar muy pronto... mas, não quero esquezer o português porque preciso falar muito bem - vou ao Brasil pra fazer pesquisa pra o meu dotorado.

Tá bom cara, escreve qualquer coisa que gosta. Como eu disse, escrevo muito ruim. Seria grande se tivessem um "spell checker" no português. :)
