Character recognition software for translating German to English
Anyone know if this type of software exists yet??

1. Well there are all sorts of machine translation programs for all sorts of
languages, but the quality is terrible unless you stick with a limited topic with an easily defined vocabulary and sentence patterns.

A machine translation program for German to translate, would something like this result. Because the word order of English and German different are, become the sentences backwards. This helps the reader not.

Actually, it could be even worse. I once knew the URL of a website that carried computer-translated newspaper articles from Germany, and it was hard to read without laughing.

Besides, there's no such thing as an optical charcter recognition software that translates languages. You have to use the OCR to input the text into a word processing program and THEN put it through a machine translation program.
