English 1000 years from now
Neat web page I ran into speculating about how English will evolve over the next 1000 years.

http://www.xibalba.demon.co.uk/jbr/futurese.html

1000 AD:
Wé cildra biddaþ þé, éalá láréow, þæt þú taéce ús sprecan rihte, forþám ungelaérede wé sindon, and gewæmmodlíce we sprecaþ...

2000 AD:
We children beg you, teacher, that you should teach us to speak correctly, because we are ignorant and we speak corruptly...

3000 AD:
*ZA kiad w'-exùn ya tijuh, da ya-gAr'-eduketan zA da wa-tAgan lidla, kaz 'ban iagnaran an wa-tAg kurrap...

2. Oh, yeah, I ran into that a few years ago when I was doing language research
for a science project. It got me started on sound change research and language families in conlangs. Very interesting.

3. I am actually working on my own English-derived conlang.
http://conlanger.com/cbb/viewtopic.php?t=2373

It's called Eridanian, it's spoken 2000 years from now on an Earth-like planet settled by English-speaking people from Western North America in the 2500s AD. It is an agglutinating language (the grammatical particles and helper-verbs have fused on to the word roots, becoming prefixes, "I have stopped it" has become "evzdaopietn") with a very simple "pitch-accent" type of simple tonality like that found in Norwegian. The personal pronouns have become verb affixes that give grammatical information about the subject and object, making Eridanian a Head-Marking language, like many Native-American languages.

4. Cool!
I need to dig up my conlang files. I posited an entire family tree descended from an internationalized version of English spoken by refugees from Earth in the early 22nd century. It morphed over a period of many millennia into a bunch of different languages.

5. I've overhauled the conlang a lot since I posted that:

Here is a line of a song translated into Eridanian:

"Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?"

Uania' nahr' wa nahr' e'safkenbrehx?
ua-nia-' n-ahr' wa n-ahr' e'saf-ken-brehx
/uəniəʔ naʁʔ wɜ naʁʔ ɛʔsɜfk̃ɛbɻex/

Uania' nahr'
INTERROGATIVE-need-3PL.N.OBJ INDEF-heart
Who-need-it a-heart

wa nahr'
CONJ INDEF-heart
when a-heart

e'safkenbrehx
3PL.N.REFLEX-COND-break
itself-can-break

another example:

"If you be good I'll get you a cookie"
Efuvi gad Eumgonga'yu akoki
Efuvi gad Eu-mgon-ga'-yu a-koki

Efuvi = first Person Singular Present Subjunctive "to be" = "If you be"
gad = "good"
eu- = 1st Person Singular subject inflection = "I"
-mgon- = 1st Person Singular future tense affix = "am gonna"
-ga'- = get
-yu = 2nd Person Singlular object inflection = "you"
a- = definite article = "a"
-koki = cookie
