English 1000 years from now

for a science project. It got me started on sound change research and language families in conlangs. Very interesting.

It's called Eridanian, it's spoken 2000 years from now on an Earth-like planet settled by English-speaking people from Western North America in the 2500s AD. It is an agglutinating language (the grammatical particles and helper-verbs have fused on to the word roots, becoming prefixes, "I have stopped it" has become "evzdaopietn") with a very simple "pitch-accent" type of simple tonality like that found in Norwegian. The personal pronouns have become verb affixes that give grammatical information about the subject and object, making Eridanian a Head-Marking language, like many Native-American languages.

I need to dig up my conlang files. I posited an entire family tree descended from an internationalized version of English spoken by refugees from Earth in the early 22nd century. It morphed over a period of many millennia into a bunch of different languages.

Here is a line of a song translated into Eridanian:
