figured I try here......
Edited on Tue Jul-08-08 12:28 AM by Historic NY
I am looking for some 74 Dodge monaco parts, pretty much anything I can get.

I am having some electrical dash gremlins causing gauges not to work correctly when the headlight are on.

I also need a radio delete or block off plate. I could use soem black plastic instead as long as it is not plexiglass.

1. Other than JCWhitney
These guys appear to have tons of stuff for your 74 (wasn't that the Bluesmobile?):

3. Have you tried Ebay?
It's where I get a majority of parts for my classics.

5. Do you check for similar models?
You may need to get a parts book. The factory manuals usually do not give the whole part number for the parts. At least the Ford ones don't. If I ever see one in the Socal boneyards I will give you a shout for orders. I go to a couple of self-serve junkyards.

7. gauges
74's have a 3 prong 5 volt power reducer which limits how much juice goes into the circuit board. Mine stopped working and turned out to be the power going to the board. We located the wire and out it back into its assigned position on the power reducer and the gauges came back to life. Well after all that I discovered that when the headlights are on the the gauges will peg out and not function, when I turn the reostat switch down they come back on, except the rest of the dash lights flash or dim out completely. I think its a ground problem or perhaps the headlight switch is Fubar. so far I've found nothing but I'm going back into it again. Mopar thinking up ways to drive you bonkers. I now found they changed out this system in 75 with an imporved version. :scared: Somewhere another ground or power stopped on my gas gauge also, we had to drop the tank since the previous owner drilled a hole threw it.

8. Look at the power prongs on the amp Gage
If I remember they had an amp gage that had three prongs. If one wire touches the other things like this can happen.
