2. could someone answer a question that's been buggin me.
I thought serial killers didn't stop unless they were caught. From what I've read about BTK he did stop several years ago. I'm just not getting it.

3. It is unusual
I have a feeling that a few more deaths will be discovered to be his. I think it is at 10 right now because he admitted to two more than they thought they knew about.
We never found out who the Zodiac killer and Jack the Ripper was, so they can only speculate something happened to them. The Green River killer didn't kill for a while either and they just recently got him.
I don't know if I would say that it is the rule that they don't stop, but it seems to be more of the case.

4. good point about the Green River killer.
As far as the Zodiac & Jack the Ripper, you're right; they may have died of natural causes or been killed, etc. I guess I've always assumed that's what happened to them, but I forgot about the Green River killer. He obviously stopped, though maybe like BTK there were more killings the cops didn't pin on him. But I would think cops would use the capture to 'clear' as many unsolved cases as they could.

But there can be a cooling off period of years, I understand.

Also, god knows if he DID stop. :hi:
