Proposed memorial for the Clutters--I stumbled across this today.

Work continues on Clutter memorial plan

HOLCOMB -- Community organizers who are putting together plans for the Clutter family memorial in Holcomb know where they want to put it --they also know what they want it to symbolize. They just don't know what it's going to look like yet.

Several area residents, many of whom went to school with the Clutter children, gathered Tuesday night in Holcomb Community Park.
After considerations about flooding, accessibility and visibility from Old U.S. Highway 50, which runs through town, the group settled on an area near the picnic shelters and between two large trees.

"It should be a relaxing place," said Bob Rupp, 65, who went to school with Nancy Clutter in 1959.

(snip)

Organizers would like to dedicate the memorial by August of next year, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the events.

2. The surviving daughters say enough memorials...
"We've had an adequate number of memorials, and they've been honored, I think, quite sufficiently," English said.

Beverly English is one of the elder daughters of the Clutter family...
