‘I’m here’ woman cried Rescued kidnap victim yelled to lawmen (held for 13 days)
Corsicana — As lawmen approached the rural Navarro County home of Jeffrey Maxwell Saturday, the 58-year-old man came out of the home and told them he knew nothing about the missing Parker County woman they were looking for.

That’s when investigators heard a noise coming from inside the house, said Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler.

“She came bursting out the door screaming ‘I’m here, I’m here,’” Fowler told the Daily Sun Monday. “They immediately placed (Maxwell) under arrest.”

The victim, a 62-year-old woman from Whitt in Parker County, had been held in restraints and repeatedly assaulted for the past 13 days after being abducted at gunpoint at her Parker County home. Her home burned to the ground two days after her abduction, launching the search for the missing woman.

What a nightmare for this poor woman - and kudos to police who found her 100 miles away from her home.
