Anyone here think Gary Condit had something to do
with Chandra Levy's death, or feel it was just part of a smear campaign against a Democrat?

1. nope, I never thought he had anything to do with it.
But, did the guy who was accused of it ever go to trial? Seems like he pled out.

That was a hell of smear campaign against Condit though & ruined his career.

2. I didn't think so
And still don't. Although there was another woman who was an intern that went missing from that area also.

3. He sure seemed a likely suspect back then
but after learning more about the case, I don't think he had anything to do with it.

5. Unsure but
I dont think it was a smear campaign either, he was quite suspicious to me, and I dont think the republicans had much to gain from going after him, as far as I know he wasnt the RMM on any committee and he was a conservative democrat, in fact a founder of the blue dog coalition in the house, the blue dogs FYI are conservative democrats generally from rural areas.

6. From what I understand, he is hardly a flaming
leftist. He is kind of a slimy little weasel-looking guy to me, but I do feel that he sort of was reamed.

The media love good old sex-and-violence Dem scandals.

He would be one of the least popular dems on the board, he was quite conservative. He was slimey to me too, I dont care what his politics were.

8. Was wondering awhile back -
What would the "media" (yeah, yeah I know :eyes: )have been able to focus on in the months leading up to 9/11 if they hadn't had Levy/Condit to distract them? Was Levy a MIHOP?

9. Can't say for sure, BUT...
he looked damned scared to me as soon as he would finish smiling for the cameras every time they were around.

10. Condit was a fuckhead of a rep for a democrat but ...
he didn't have shit to do with it IF what we base our conclusion upon is evidence rather than bullshit speculation.
