For the first time ever, I turned the TV off about 3/4 of the way
through Keith's show. I was so angered by the constant use of the words "Obama, Clinton and the other Democratic candidate". At times last night, I felt Keith was under orders not to mention the word Edwards. Since I know he has more spine than to take that as an order, maybe I was not reading it right.

Anyone else notice it? Both of us in this household did.

1. I didn't.
I think you are imagining things. Keith has had Edwards on his show and admires Elizabeth to death...would like to see HER as president.

2. And I am now curious as to how you feel
if you watched tonight's show.

Do you still feel Keith is following orders not to use Edwards' name?

3. Maybe I was just too tired to interpret everything...Yes, I saw
John Edwards on last nights show.

I know Keith admires both John and Mrs Edwards, as do I. There just seemed to be an unbalanced amount of coverage during the caucus commentary.

I am a great supporter of the Edwards campaign and a huge Olbermann fan. My comment was not made to be critical of them but to ask if anyone else thought there was less than fair mention of Edwards.

4. I thought it was a bit strange on caucus night that Keith seemed to be implying
that if Edwards and Clinton finished about the same and her finish was considered a failure, his must be also. That's kind of like saying oh, I don't know, if I didn't win a gold medal at the Olympics, but got a silver or bronze, I should be just as disappointed as one of the favorites who was expected to win. Are you kidding? I'd be thrilled!

Victory can be quite relative in any situation, including this one. If Edwards didn't spend nearly as much as Hillary yet finished close to or even ahead of her, that's saying something. I think Keith was trying to say that much by calling himself maybe a "wet blanket" the night before. But I wouldn't come down on him too hard; I think he was trying to make an honest assessment of what the results meant and not get too overly excited or exaggerate anything. He was even downplaying Obama's victory a bit. And I don't think it had anything to do with him not supporting this candidate or supporting that one. And by last night he was really presenting only Clinton's finish as a major disappointment, which, I am sure, it was.

I think Hillary knows she really has to kill 'em in New Hanpshire or things are going to look really bad. Edwards isn't dead yet. I think this means, if anything, he's still alive. Maybe more so than she is. We will have to see.
