KOEB 1/19/08 Nevada Caucus and South Carolina Primary Edition

I may not be here all the time...I have work to do. In fact, I'll probably be checking in and checking out.

Keith is in the Tigger tie, and has already said "We'll be talking to all the people worth hearing from, including Chris Matthews."

Ah, Keith, the things you will do to be a team player and try to keep the peace... *sigh*

2. Did you hear what Tweety just said
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 06:27 PM by BerryBush
when the Bud was being moved into the one room...he said "This campaign has kind of been like the Budweiser Clydesdales...lots of plodding and chugging and moving along slowly and heavy hooves..."

Keith: "HOOVES?!?!?!?"

Oh man, and we thought the Lawrence of Arabia analogy was a stretch..

It's gonna be a looooooong night.

On edit: Perhaps Tweety is trying to say that the candidates in this campaign are "hoof hearted"?

4. Great God in heaven. Rudy just said
he is going to be the greatest president because he will CUT TAXES more than any other Republican and he will SLASH SPENDING more than anyone else because he will ELIMINATE more civil workers' jobs when they are eligible for retirement than anyone else.

They really do still think this is the way to speak to their audience and the voters in general, don't they? "We won't tax and spend! We won't tax and spend!" "Our corporate taxes are the second highest in the world and we are losing businesses to other countries so we MUST CUT THESE ONEROUS CORPORATE TAXES and STIMULATE THE ECONOMY!!!! It will CREATE JOBS!!!! Which is good, because the way I'm going to cut spending is to TAKE WORKERS OFF THE CIVIL SERVICE PAYROLLS!!!!"

Keith just said "Maybe we'll soon hear how those civil workers feel about their jobs being cut."

Rachel is on! Yea!!!! Tweety just mentioned some new title MSNBC has given her?? What?? I have to hear this again!

5. A post over in GD said she is an "official MSNBC analyst.
Don't know if that's exactly what Tweety said, as I missed it, but I think it's very cool!

7. So I see.
I thought I heard Keith use those words to introduce her the other night. Maybe it didn't penetrate Tweety's skull that it had happened because he was too busy worrying about saving his bacon.

Oh boy, here comes Mayor McCheese.

6. Ha! MSNBC shows Mittens rolling up his sleeves just before he goes on stage
to address his Florida supporters after his "gold medal" in Nevada.

Keith comments on how we don't normally get to actually see candidates preparing this kind of "stagecraft" designed to make them look more like working people!

Jeez. Is there anything more FAKE than the "candidate with his sleeves rolled up" nonsense? Oh, wait, there is...the president with his sleeves rolled up...

9. Hi, everyone!
I'm watching in bits and pieces, so I wasn't surprised Hillary won in Nevada.

I'm very surprised that Tweety isn't yapping a lot, so that's a major improvement!

about winning in Nevada was like someone bragging that they were the class valedictorian when they were home schooled!

19. LOL! That was great, Gogi!!!
 "What's good for General Bullmoose is good for the USA!"

Ah, "Lil' Abner"...saw a great production of it at my high school years before I was of high-school age and never forgot it.

MSNBC is so entertained that Fred actually looks RELIEVED that he's not cutting it. He's tired and he wants to go home. This was Jeri's dream...not his.

Go to bed, old man!

That's right on target, Gogi!! Fred doesn't get it--he's on his way out the door and he thinks he's gonna win something? LOLOL!!

He needs to go to the nursing home NOW! Face it, Fred--it's over for you. Endorse whoever and leave!

27. An even more appropriate line for Fred from the "Jubilation T. Cornpone" song:
Who became so famous with a reputation so great,
That he ran for president and didn't carry a state?
Why it was Jubilation T. Cornpone;
Old "Wouldn't be sworn - pone."
Jubilation T. Cornpone, he made the country wait!

an undistinguished political career. Sounds more and more like old Fred doesn't it?

Now, imagine Foghorn Leghorn singing "Jubilation T. Cornpone" and the picture is complete!
