Yes, Rachel has committed the unforgiveable sin: saying something in favor of or against a Dem candidate.

If you are in the MSM and you have a word of a praise for a Dem candidate, that makes you a disgusting shill and a hater of the other candidate(s).

If you are in the MSM and you have a word of negativity about a Dem candidate, that makes you a hater and a basher, not to mention a corporate media whore who probably secretly wants the Republicans to win so your corrporate overlords can make more money from defense contracts.

Oh, and does it surprise me that Mr. Daily Howler has supposedly "described Rachel's 'motive journalism' tactics rather well"? No. THAT jackass hates and resents anyone who's not a blogger sitting naked in front of his computer in his mom's basement. You know..the ONLY kind of journalist we can TRUST...the "Citizen Journalist." :rofl:

Keith knows this story well. At least he's not the only one. Every other progressive voice on TV and radio is suffering from the same slings and arrows. What it comes down to is, none of them can open their mouths and say anything without someone gettin' mad.

Maybe it's just the part of me that actually got an education in this stuff and resents the fact that so many people seem to think all they need is a computer and an Internets connection to be a "journalist," but I'm getting damn tired of the knee-jerk prejudice against the MSM by some DU'ers and bloggers.

Are the MSM too corporate-dominated (and by too few corporations)? Yeah. Do some have an agenda? Yeah. Are there stupid, lazy journalists and editors working in some professional jobs? You bet. But there are some damn good ones, too, and they don't deserve to be smeared just because of who signs their paychecks (or the fact that they GET paychecks).

There are some bloggers out there who are as serious, professional, and dedicated as anyone getting paid to be a journalist for someone else. There are others who are just idiots with a keyboard and an opinion, but they want you to think they are better than anyone in a newspaper, on the radio or on TV because "Nobody owns ME!" (Yeah, pal. Maybe it's because nobody would WANT to pay you to do what you do.)

I judge 'em based on how well they do the work. Period. Not who they do it for, or whether they do it out of sheer love of it or actually do it for a living. The fact that you get paid to do something does't automatically make you corrupt or corruptible...no matter what some DU'ers say.

And to my mind, Rachel does her job damn well...no matter who she pisses off sometimes.
