Updates on my never-ending life saga

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Here's what's been going on:
1. While fixing supper on Saturday night, I got burned with boiling water from a rogue pot of spaghetti. I got second degree burns on my stomach - fortunately, it didn't hurt (much), but my SIL suggested that I needed to get to the doctor to get special burn ointment.
2. During this time, my computer decided that it won't connect to the internets. Damned IE kept shutting down on me.
3. Monday morning, I get an appointment to see the doctor about my burn. While there, I doubled over in intense pain, started going into shock, and ended up going to the ER. I told them it felt like a ruptured ovarian cyst (that happened to me 13 years ago). After several hours, they still could not determine exactly what happened. They sent me home with a nice supply of the Rush drug. Still no internet service.
4. Tuesday, I finally got my burn ointment and my flu shot (which is why I went to the doctor in the first place!). The pain has subsided significantly, which tells me this is probably what I suspected. I have a follow-up appointment on Thursday with a wonderful OB/GYN.
5. Tuesday evening, I watched election returns and spent the evening installing Windows XP on my computer. Everything worked well, except for the intertubes connections, so I couldn't log on. :(
6. After much tinkering, I finally found a way to work around the security settings, which were blocking my access... so, here I am! :)

Hell of a weekend.
Oh, and I cried last night... I'm sure you all were, too.

:hug: I was hoping you had voted then went down to watch with Dad. Glad your SIL told you to go see your doc, never mess with burns. Hope you start feeling better and things go smoothly for a while. for me. I am down to regular over the counter ones now when needed. Sometimes one of the lortabs for at night would be good but they are so careful with them. Will tell you what the doc told me, take them at the times prescribed whether you hurt or not because they have a cumulative effect and work better that way. I can take the pain now I just want to be allowed to walk, even with boots. Have to wait until Dec. 8th before I know if I will be allowed to then.

We as a nation have been constipated for the last eight years. I dunno about you, but whenever I finally get to take a big crap, I'm so relieved that I actually cry.

If only you could have been here...you could have shared my champagne with me. As it is, I downed the entire bottle solo. Amazingly enough, without getting sick and with no hangover! All I was left with this morning was the thrill of waking up in a BLUE Ohio!!!!

Yes, all of my tubes were clogged this week. It turns out that Internet Explorer won't run unless you have some kind of antivirus program running, or if you set you security settings to ultra-high. On the other hand, DU sure is pretty with an upgraged browser! And, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to see everyone's pictures from now on, too. Later tonight, I'm going to try to install Office 2007. Let's just hope the memory holds out. (Damn, but I'm cheap!)

Actually, the burn really doesn't hurt.. probably because I put ice on it right away. Well, OK - I put frozen yogurt on it, because I was out of ice. Besides, it keeps better in those little Yoplait cups if you don't open them. Then later - a reward for being so brave! :9
