KOEB Meeting: 11/19/08 -- I Paid $1.99/gal. for Gas Today! Edition
Edited on Wed Nov-19-08 08:06 PM by Patsy Stone
:hi:, kids.

Al Franken is ahead in the recount by 570 votes: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7897897

And too many people think Bev Harris would make a great "Secretary of Democracy & Election Integrity". http://backbonecampaign.com/cabinet/

They would also like to see Will Pitt as Chairman of the FCC. :)

It got really cold really fast this year. And to think it was 70 degrees on election day and the day after!

43. If you really want great gas prices, come to Ohio.
You can get it for $1.75. Of course, it's a little colder here. But really, not all that much.

4. Congrats!!
I paid $1.86 two weeks ago & when I fill up this weekend, it will be about $1.75.

BTW, Coleman is ahead now by 196 votes, but less than 10% of the votes have been counted.

GO AL!!

Edited on Wed Nov-19-08 08:38 PM by rusty charly
in that 3pm slot, I'm liking Ron Kuby (yes, that one) oddly enough. Most of the NY AAR- or actually WWRL since it's sort of a mishmosh- is weird now but I like Ed Schultz and Ron Kuby.

We get Ed at 3:00, but I stream Randi. Ed gets on my nerves a lot and I'd rather hear something in real time than delayed by three hours.

41. Mr. Kuby:
"While in college, Kuby interned with William Kunstler, a lawyer known for his defense of the Chicago Seven. Kuby earned his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 1983.

From 1983 until Kunstler's death in 1995, the two worked together on civil rights and criminal cases. They represented Gregory Lee Johnson, Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman (head of the Egyptian-based militant group Al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya); Colin Ferguson (the man responsible for the LIRR shootings, who would later choose to represent himself at trial); Qubilah Shabazz (daughter of Malcolm X, accused of plotting to murder Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam); Glenn Harris (a New York public school teacher who absconded with a fifteen year-old girl for two months), Darrell Cabey (one of the persons who assaulted Bernard Goetz ); Yu Kikumura, and associates of the Gambino Crime Family. During the Gulf War, they represented American soldiers claiming "conscientious objector" status. They also represented El Sayyid Nosair, assassin of the late extremist Rabbi Meir Kahane, whom Kuby's father had admired."

Aw...

Ed was replaced by Thom Hartmann, Randi's live here at 3 p.m., and then the hideous Lionel comes on, nine hours delayed, irrelevant before he begins. I've written to ask for Rachel, but no dice.

I've never heard of Ron Kuby. I'll go Google.

50. Attention all personnel: it's little wonder Joe the Plumber admires Sarah Palin so
because he mangles the language just as badly as she does.

McCain was "trying to allude to the fact" that Sarah sank him? Um, no, Joe, you don't believe it's a fact, so you don't CALL it a fact. (Of course, it IS a fact, so why shouldn't Grampy allude to it?)

Then you have Michelle Bachmann, who can't tell the difference between a documented FACT that is on videotape and an "urban legend." Ah, if only Michelle herself were an "urban legend."
