Finally, some action !
Annoyed KO today by sending him the glad news that our little worshipful group is second only to the John Kerry group in the post count sweepstakes. He probably has me on ignore!

:wtf: KO says, why aren't you first, get a move on! Some fan club I've got.

That was sweet. He should be proud of us. Just think what our post count would be if we had our own group back in January!

Of course, we may want to speculate how many of those posts should have been deleted, especially if they appeared anywhere else on DU.

that was truly insane. Are we going to do that again? And if we do that again, are we going to do it out in the open or do it via PM since it seems likely we can be overheard here? Or should we just label the thread prominently and if he wants to spoil the surprise that's his own damned problem?

But I'm a realist and NYC is a huge city. Just not my nature to be that optimistic. Now, where should we go for lunch? A soup place, perhaps, NYC has lots of them. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has places to eat and I plan on spending at least half a day there, but $8.00 for a little slice of pizza, uh-uh. Bloomingdale's? Perhaps Crispi and Bunny have a favorite place to eat? Weigh in girls!

radio talk show host and Botany's one and only, except for all of his favorite EDV's. We did not send Keith a floaty heart mug. Someone suggested doing it for Valentine's Day and people liked the idea on paper but it got collectively flushed as too stalkerish because we'd only just sent him a bday present and it's a little weird sending him something for a holiday with romantic overtones when we don't even know the guy. The consensus seemed to be that since he's had stalker trouble in the past, we should use a little caution about doing things that might creep him out.

on edit: you can check the archives for the discussion -- I'm pretty sure the idea was floated midway between KO's bday and VD, so probably in the neighborhood of Feb 5-7 of this year.

secong edit: if memory serves, this discussion would have been in ERD and wasn't primarily on a nightly thread. And no, I don't know why I think that.

56. yes. I'm not up on the details.
I have the vague impression that it was a female, that it went on for years, and that at one point she used some ruse and got security to escort her to KO's desk while he was working at ESPN, which must have given him a nasty jolt. Whether she was an overtly threatening person or simply someone who tried to suck all the oxygen out of his life by being the Overeager Fan From Hell, I don't know, but anytime I hear the word "stalker", I assume it wasn't good and that it would be considerate to take extra pains to respect his boundaries.

Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 12:30 AM by Gogi
Several quotes from reviewers praising his show, watch them sometime. I watched a little of one show and fast is not the word for it, it's news commentary for people with ADHD. It's definitely suited to Tucker because there's no chance anyone will embarrass Bowtie Boy like Jon Stewart did. Al Sharpton made a comment Tucker did'nt like, Tucker cut him off with "Oh, come on!" and then it was off to the next topic. News commentary at the racetrack!

okay, that's a lie. The television was on and I was in next room doing chores, but the first thing I thought was that the pace is intended to conceal the shallow depth of Tucker's knowledge... and it doesn't even manage to do that.
