Some good news about Keith's dad
I should've known that if we could find it nowhere else, it would be on his Baseball Nerd blog, which I haven't paid that much attention to lately but which he, of course, has kept up as if it were the thick of the season. He posted this this afternoon:

So many have asked, between this post and previous ones, about my father's health. We haven't exactly moved to hopeful since I made my remarks on television Wednesday night, but we certainly can say we're encouraged. As of this evening, my Dad's white blood cell count has improved by two-thirds in three days. If he regains his wakefulness, I'm going to ask him if at some point our family name might have been changed from Houdini.

Thought you all might want to know. Not out of the woods yet, but things are looking a bit better.

2. That's so great.
I was wondering, indeed. Thanks for the info.

Also, once pitchers and catchers report, doesn't it automatically become the thick of the season? :)

3. I think so.
Of course, for Keith, there are only three seasons:

Spring Training: in which all time is spent watching pre-season baseball
Baseball Season: in which all time is spent watching regular-season, playoff and World Series baseball
Hot Stove Season: in which all time is spent talking about past baseball and anticipating future baseball

4. No, Keith, your family name
was changed from Overman... which would make us very distant cousins.
Right now, Berry is jumping up and down with glee, but I remind her: it's only bad if FIRST cousins marry. Or reproduce. :P

Great, great news! :)

5. That's great news.
I figured we would have heard if his dad had died and I was surprised we hadn't heard anything. I guess no news was good news.
