I got about the same amount back on my taxes as last year. Most of it's going to Home Depot and my home equity line to pay toward paying off my kitchen.

sure I haven't had a paycheck since August, but I cashed out my 401k & that brought my income up to what it was in 2008. Yet, with all that, my refund was waaaaayyyyy higher than last year, thank heavens, & gives me some breathing room until my court appointment checks start coming in.

This is my first season for NY. Alex does seem to be basically okay. And I actually like Bethenny. I have to agree with you about Jill and the Countless. And Ramona is totally off her rocker -- I think she's got multiple personality disorder.

I don't like Bethenny, but the shit that Jill pulled on her is ridiculous. How could you say that you're someone's friend & put their phone calls on speaker, ones where they are practically begging to meet with you & talk about what went wrong, *AFTER* they found out you went to the press & started dropping acid bombs. And then Jill & LuAnn being supportive of Kelly posing nude, when they all but disowned Alex for doing it decades ago. And Ramona is a wacko with, apparently, a heart of gold. But Jill, Luann, & Kelly all hammer on my last nerve.

all the way through. I've seen a few here and there of some of them, although I saw most of Atlanta the first time around and enjoyed it. I've been waiting for the NJ girls to return. It was hilarious; and there was a lot of drama, because they're all hot-headed Italians. I think most of them are also in the mob. And don't get me started on the hair and clothes.

I think the fact that most of them are related in addition to being friends adds a whole extra dimension to it.

and the upper 40s on Saturday, which is a real bummer. I have three different things on Saturday -- an 85th birthday brunch for a family friend, our state endorsement convention and then our Jeff Jack dinner. I have no time to change in between any of them (the convention and dinner are in the same place downtown) and finally decided on something I could wear to all three. Now I'm going to freeze. I may have to rethink it all.

Sounds like you need to dress in layers on Saturday. Very strategically.

Me? Jennifer Brunner's having some kind of rally at an Irish pub on the West Side so I think I'll go. Already voted for her by mail.

and normally for the convention I'd go pretty casual. I don't think I have anything that's really going to work.

(okay, you'll look Hassidic, but go with me) and then bring a sequined top and nice shoes in a bag. Change in the ladies room. You can do the same thing with a pantsuit. Leave the jacket and top in your car if there's a parking garage and you don't feel like wearing a pantsuit all day.

I don't have to be outside that much except to walk to and from my car at the convention center. It could be really cold leaving the dinner at 9 o'clock at night.

I was already going to change shoes and jewelry from day to night, but now I'm not going to want to go out to my car in between the convention and the dinner.

I'll figure it out. I hate that they're doing the convention and the dinner on the same day, but they'll get more people from outstate to the dinner that way because they'll already be in town for the convention. This is the first time we've had an endorsement convention. Usually, we pick our attorney general and secretary of state candidates at our August convention, but then they only have from then until November to campaign. By endorsing now, hopefully the non-endorsed candidates will drop out and the endorsed candidates will be able to start campaigning before they are officially nominated in August.

won't the convention center have a coat check open? Leave your stuff there.

It's definitely an option, and one I thought about before. I'm sure I'm overthinking this, as usual.
