My phone won't ship until around the 14th. As long as I have it by the time I go to Vegas for Netroots. I downloaded the new OS4 software, though, so I've got my folders all set up and ready to go.

But I think OS4 eats more battery than the old OS did. So, you decided to get the new one? Nice.

I didn't think I would be. $199 for either the new one or a new 3GS -- kind of a no-brainer. Why pay the same thing for the old one? I was at the mall with the Apple store at 6:30 Thursday morning, but they didn't think everyone there without a pre-order would be able to get a phone, so I gave up and ordered it online from my phone while I was there. They weren't taking pre-orders for the next batch, and then after I ordered it, they started to. I may have gotten it faster if I had ordered it there, but it was done and I didn't feel like going through the hassle of cancelling the order.

I've been looking for a case online and it seems no one has anything in stock for the 4. I want a more protective one this time.

I've been watching West Wing at the gym every morning, and it's scary how much stuff is lining up with today's reality. Lawrence must have some kind of magical powers to see the future.

I watch that in the morning, instead of Morning Starbucks. Sometimes I watch Fox and Freaks, but The West Wing makes me feel the best.

depending on what time I get to the gym and whether or not it's a 60 minutes on the bike or treadmill day or a 40 minutes of cardio and a half hour of weights day. Some of the parallels between what's going on there and what's happening today absolutely astound me.

Did they run out of street names? The poor truck driver husband was in your town today. He finally figured out Avenues run one way and Streets another though why they have to have the same name/number he doesn't know but then they throw in Terrace of the same name/number in there just to screw with your head. I had already taught him that just because there is a lake doesn't mean the road of that name ends, that it will pick up on the other side but he is convinced street planners in FL are sadistic hate drivers. He should be in Homestead now. lol Now my question, if there is a 21 Str., 21 Ave and 21 Terrace in 1 little block where did they stick 21 Rd.? :rofl: Second time down there, he gets to go through some pretty country on the way home. Think most of it is Duda land though.

That's the acronym. Courts, Roads, Avenues and Places run north/south. Most everything else runs east/west, but there are, of course, some named streets and circular roads that don't always adhere to the plan. Streets and Avenues are the major thoroughfares, with Terraces and Places and Courts filling in the middle of the pattern, but you have to know which direction you're looking for.

Miami (the City of Miami that is) along with all of the surrounding municipalities runs off of a grid system. The zero point is in downtown: the intersection of Miami Avenue and Flagler Street. Everything radiating out from there has a direction in front of it. NW, SW, SE, NE. Except for three places: Miami Beach, Hialeah, and Coral Gables. They have their own street systems. Coral Gables is all named after Spanish towns and conquerors, with no rhyme or reason. The street signs are concrete blocks on the ground. At snake-eye level as Dave Barry once said. Even the locals get lost in Coral Gables. Hialeah is also on a grid system, but it's a completely different grid, for no good reason. The minute you cross the line into Hialeah your street becomes a totally different street. NE 103rd Street becomes West 49th Street. I don't know why, it just does. But the coffee is really good in Hialeah, there's a famous racetrack, and they have great thrift stores, so we keep on going.

He did OK and found where he needed to be. Miami has nothing on Boston, the place he has been going the most with this new job. He's happy to be out of the northeast road construction and traffic for a run. I just didn't realize the Duda's still own most of Florida. I am going to save your explanation for him, it is the clearest one I've heard so far.

Seems the company my brother works for will be putting in the new spy toll booths on your turnpike. (Might of already started that one.)
