RevCheesehead's Countdown to 10,000
With this post, I will need exactly 10 more to reach 10,000.
Considering that at least 5,000 of those posts were in this group (and how many hundred to Sparky?), I thought it fitting to do my own personal Countdown to 10,000.

I will exercise the utmost restraint, and only post here until I hit the milestone. Who knows? Maybe Keith will show up!
Would you join me? :loveya:

I thought I was coming up on a milestone, myself, but I seem to have rolled right over 3,000 without even noticing.

yay! it's Keef time!

now they're talking about 9.11 --- Dan doesn't want to compare 9.11 to KO as far as not playing games, K. points out they couldn't, says more accurate comparison is to Kennedy assassination.

9. wow, pete rosell story about making the call TO play
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 01:12 PM by crispini
after Kennedy assassination, a guy punched rosell in the nose and rosell didn't do anything!

KO calling on people to play them as charity games.

edited to add: I can appreciate people wanting to take their minds off stuff, that's why work has been such a blessing for me this last week. So I guess I know where they're coming from.

Course both being so sick at the same time maybe we just leaned on each other. I am sure Gizzy is teaching Roo how to hide his paws hoping Roo will chase him. (The ferrets have a fetish for nipping cats paws, softly but so irritating to the cats). Blue is probably watching them and thinking they are nuts before he joins the chase.

19. Did ya hit 10,000, Revvie?
Wacky day. Jossip used nine of my items today, including my personal faves – the FEMA “rap song for kids” (no, I am NOT kidding), and the screen cap of Bush from Sky TV. As if that’s not enough insanity, I was hit on by my bus drive…who just happens to be around 60 years old! (What’s sad…I may go out with him. Yes, kiddies, my love life IS that dead.)

I ended up going to church at noontime, to light a candle at the altar they’ve set up in front of the Virgin Mary statute for the Katrina victims. It’s so beautiful, and really touching. As hokey as it sounds, I really felt God’s presence with me as I left. It was as though I could almost touch it. (Rev, at least you’ll get this.) Wonderful moment in a stress filled week.

Besides watching KO on Sunday, I’m having a friend of mine take my official “intern” photo for Jossip down at Safeco Field. There’s a big sculpture of a baseball mitt there, that I’m sure I can use as an inventive backdrop. Hey, our team may suck, but at least we have good public art.

Thanks to all of you for your humor, recaps from ESPN, and kindness. This has been a rough week for everyone. Hopefully, the smile will be coming back for all of us…and soon!

20. Not yet, but I'm getting close!
Everywhere I go, people are on "disaster burn-out." There's an overwhelming sense of helplessness, anger, and fear. People are searching for meaning, wondering if their own lives have significance.

I've been putting together the bulletin for Sunday - a combination of prayers for hurricane victims, and remembrance of 9/11. It was a labor of love - but I'm emotionally exhausted, just from assembling the worship together!

Muffy, dear - ever since you wandered into our midst, you have shown all the true characteristics of an EDV: snark, humor, keen observations, and able to engage in thought. If the KOEB were a scout troop, you would make a great troop leader!

 and love!

35. Aw, thanks, sweetie!
You remind me so much of my favorite pastor, Father Ward. He's such a character! He got into the priesthood after his wife passed away from cancer. So, at age 64, he restarted his life.

Because he's been out in the "real world", he was able to offer me wisdom, faith, and a goofy sense of humor. He did homilies on everything from the perils of dating to what space aliens would say if they came to earth, and talked about God. He's a total baseball junkie. But my fondest moment was when I asked him to play the role of God for my Sunday School class' Christmas spectacular. I'd scripted his lines to say "Buster Bunny, you are not alone." His take? "Yo, Buster! I'm here!" (Sadly, he retired due to poor health two years ago. But I asked today, and he's doing well!)

You have that same gift as Father Ward--kindness, compassion, and a goofy sense of humor. The people in your parish are blessed to have you!

Love ya, Muffster :)

48. plenty of cake to go around.
I've got French vanilla, creamy milk chocolate, raspberry (that used to be my birthday cake every year!), and lemon poppyseed. And, of course, Angel Food.

If you're going to be drug-screened, I'd recommend you pass on the poppyseeds.

42. Cheese Cheese baby!
I missed the big moment, but let me take the opportunity to say how glad I am to know you, and call you my friend.

(P.S.: I originally mistyped the word "glad" above as "gland", an appropriate kind of KOEB freudian slip.)

50. why'd you change it?
Sometimes Mr. Freud does get a thing or two right. And sometimes, it's just a typo.

My buddy Bleev. Brother to the Cheezy-Doodle. The one-eyed wonder. Master and Believer, and keeper of the store-room key. And, of course, part of the great Wisconsin diaspora (I'm choosing to ignore your FIB roots, for the sake of poetic license).

Who else would have seen "Gull Bay" as an anagram of "Ball Guy?"
Who else keeps us safe from the likes of O'Reilley and Limbaugh?
Who else didn't give a rip about ties?

Ward and June would be proud, bless their hearts.
 and love, too.

53. And organ pipes in the background!!!
Anyone want to critique the outfit? Do I detect an orange-stripey tie? Any comments on the basic black suit and multicolor-lined cape?
(if the muppet were a tad greyer, it could pass as a Keith homage.)

Thanks, Catch! Much love and

58. OK, I peeked.
We have about 19,000. The Kerry group has about 40,000.

The fun discovery of the night: in the Democrats group, the smallest number of posts (53) goes to the Hillary Clinton supporters.

We were Mystery Science Theater 3000 before there WAS a Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I was thinking...I wish WhirlyGirl were here.

as for MST3K, the trick was remembering that you weren't supposed to do it to teachers!
