I have some good news...sorta
Well friends, I have a job and start tomorrow. I'm glad I found something because I was getting really depressed and desperate. It's not the kind of job I wanted or somewhere I normally would have gone for a job. But when you are desperate, you do desperate things :)

So tomorrow at 9am I report for work at.......WAL-MART!!!!

That's right...I will be working for the evil corp. giant. As it is, once I know what my schedule will be, I will also be making an appointment with a lawyer and filing for bankruptcy as the pay I will be making is just enough to maybe keep me afloat.

The only good thing I will say is that I have always believed that in order to find a job you need a job. So I will continue to look for something better and maybe it will come along.

So for the time being, Sheridan and I will be staying put(Thank God)because I didn't fancy living in the woods...:)(I would never have given up my baby)

I'll give everyone a rundown of my first day tomorrow night

1. Take them for everything they've got.
Hey, a job's a job. I agree - you're more likely to get hired if you already have something going. I have no idea why.

But you and Sheridan get to stay together! :bounce:

2. Keeping my family together(Sheridan andI)
was the most important thing for me. Unfortunately, they are only hiring part-time right now(34 hrs)but it will eventually be full-time I hope and the department I will be working in (Electronics) is one of their best depts.

The beginning pay sucks, but since I didn't have anything coming in and no prospects, I took it. The best part of this is that I live 5 mins from the store so my gas usage will be little. Also I was told I get a 25% employee discount and the store is a Super Wal-mart with a grocery inside which will save me money in other ways.

3. Who gives a rat's ass what anyone thinks?
I don't know anyone in my life who's not making a compromise of some sort or other in order to survive. I have friends in work situations they don't want to be in, strictly to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads.

Besides, it's better than begging for quarters on the street, right? The important thing is that you and Sheridan get to stay together, and that's all that matters.

Hang in there, okay?

Well said....

and Grey...as long as you and Sheridan can stay together that's great....

I'm developing a fondness for Sheridan just from his pics....I wish him and his "servant" only the best...

4. Congratulations, Grey
I know it's not what you really want, but it's something and will help you get back on your feet. I wish my hubby would apply for a job somewhere like that, but he won't hear of it, so here he sits.

5. Grey, I'm glad for ya.
Right now you and Sheridan are together and that's the important thing. Hang in there, make some money, find things to laugh about and pull your life together. You'll make it. And you still got people thinking good thoughts for you. :-)

6. Great news, Grey!
I once took the godawfullest temporary job just to boost my income. It lasted 3 weeks and they were the three longest weeks of my life but you gotta do what you gotta do.

congratulations on finding something, even if it's not a dream job. You get to stay with your bestest friend and that means a lot. Best wishes on the continuing job search.

on edit: and getting a discount on groceries and dog food is a big  in my book!

show up on time and work hard. Keep looking for other jobs too.
.5 to 1.5 hours per day. Just do not talk politics or make friends with
any of the upper people there. By you food cheap and some day
Crispini and the Rev will stop by for a feed.

And @ the end of the day the unconditional love of dog will make
you rich.
