Having spent my past weekend in upstate NY, I did hear about but not see those smoking ads and how gross they were. I thought "Maybe it's good I moved out of NY." LOL.

But seriously, I wonder how long they will continue to work once the initial shock wears off and smokers who don't want to face reality (or who get pushed over the border by the gross-out factor right into the Land of Denial) begin changing the channel.

After all, even Keith is always talking about how those cross-section pictures of diseased lungs scared the bejesus out of him in school--but if they really worked on him then, why'd he go on to smoke for 27 years?

There's a big disconnect going on here. Some of it's addiction, some of it's denial. That's all I can think. Me, I just got scared right off the bat and I'm such a wimp that as a result, I never picked up a smoke.

Better late than never. I was watching Will & Grace for the first half hour, but hubby was having trouble with the 'puter anyway. He gets automatic updates from Microsoft and when the one that came out today downloaded it screwed up the machine royally. He had to play around and reboot it four times before it started working properly.

I am sure that at this rate she'll be back in Aruba next week. After all, the miner thing was only a temporary yanking away of her services from the REAL news to be found out there.
